Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@-LEEn@ GoOHmez, was born on July 22, 1992. She is an American actor, singer, and producer. Gomez started her acting career on the children's television series Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager, she rose to prominence by playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Apart from her television show, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019), and voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was executive producer for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez received praise from critics about the series in addition to nominations for the Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. All of them reached the top ten spots of the US Billboard 200. The albums were all certified gold and earned the Recording Industries Association of America's (RIAA). Stars Dance (2013) was her first album released by her solo. Billboard 200, and its lead single "Come & Take It" reached the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album Revival (2015), debuted at the top of the charts in the US it was certified platinum by RIAA which led to three US top ten hits: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) the album that was her third studio album was her third straight number one in the US. The album's first single, "Lose You To Love Me" was her first top-ten hit song in both the US and Canada. Revelacion was her Spanish-language album was released in 2021. The singer was nominated to the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been honored with many accolades, including being named Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2017. In 2017 she also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential people worldwide in 2020. Gomez is a social media star and is the most followed musician and actress on Instagram. Gomez is also involved in fashion, handbags and fragrance.
