Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN as well as HLN. She often appears for CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. She served as meteorologist for local stations on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before she joined CNN. She's reported on all kinds of weather events, including hurricanes, blizzards as well as flooding and wildfires. In fact, she received an Emmy award for her reporting of Hurricane Dorian which struck the Bahamas in 2019. In April of 2011 she covered the super-tornado outbreak when 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States within four days. Around 200 tornadoes happened on April 27, 2011. She has covered climate change, but also volcanic eruptions and earthquakes because of her environmental science background. Chinchar holds a Bachelor of Science from the Department of Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University.
