Lucy Liu is an American voice actress, producer, and singer. She is an attractive, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. After a series of initial appearances in some popular series she achieved fame by joining the crew of the cult comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. The fame she gained from the show was translated into movie roles, such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. While she was in the film she was a leading lady in flops at the box office such as Rise: Blood Hunter were as well-known. Then, she was voice actor for animated films including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's small-screen role as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce any results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland helped re-establish herself as an established actress. Liu takes great care when selecting her roles in order that she does not become typecast within a highly competition-driven industry.
