Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the virtues of family football scholarships and volunteering for the community. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. The Selmons were also among the three brothers who played for Oklahoma in football. All three made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in across the country. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. Also, they won the national title twice. Selmon was a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third time in 1975. Selmon obtained a degree as a teacher. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. After graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa and spent the next 9 years with Tampa's Buccaneers. Three times he was named All-Pro. He began his business career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him as one of the country's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6'2 inches. While he was in for college, he was the head coach of the team of 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of Athletics at the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded an award of the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
